Hi there Steve Jenkins! I'm afraid I have to agree with Christa Belle. Although I did actually enjoy my "ravioli in vodka sauce" it was extremely soupy, and my husbands was almost dry. I actually poured some of my sauce on to his dish! I also agree the menu was so hard to see, and the atmosphere in the restaurant felt extremely sterile & cold. I did not try the pizza so cannot speak to that, but I feel I must say that just because something may be deemed as "authentic" doesn't mean that everyone is going to enjoy it. We all have different tastes, in everything, and Christa Belle was just giving her opinion. (and several other people's I might add) As to Ambar, we all love the food there, and the other Indian restaurant you spoke of, we did not! So you see, we are all different and we all belong in this World. What an uninteresting & boring World it would be if we were all the same
My best wishes to you & yours Mr Jenkins!

I have to say that Mason is a grand name for a place ;-) Obviously I'm biased though.

Good to hear that things are going well - I've been very lax in my contact with you of late and I do miss my two favourite musician friends.

Having read Steve's comments, I have the tiniest suspicion that he may be connected to the restaurant in question, I've seen this happen a number of times - people have Google Alerts set up so they get to see who's talking about them online and they're quick to try to counter the criticism ...

Hello Steve. Firstly, I will consider the fact that Basilico are at least Organic and serving healthier ingredients. I just, personally, didn't like the way they were put together. I admire you letting me know what you felt. And no. I have not yet been to Italy. But, I do know Italian food and that didn't say Italian to me.

Secondly, I was not aware of anything sexist to do with Ambar. I just know I've liked their Vegetarian options for years now with no complaints from me or my husband (who is just as picky, if not more so, than I am).

To wrap up, maybe I did speak too soon and not have all of my facts straight. For that, I apologize. Thanks for bringing these things to my attention. But, I will not "give it a rest" any time soon. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :) If we aren't allowed that, we've got nothing.

Take care,

Christa Belle

seriously? let me start at the bottom of this article and work up. first, you must not be aware of the sexist issues that ambar faced recently, so must support that. plus, their food is beyond bad. their neighbor provides the best indian dishes intown. next, let's discuss the great organicrestaurant basilico. it is perfect for everyone. they do not just want to serve the elite who can afford it. also, my guess is that you have never been to italy. when i was in naples i enjoyed probably the best pizza i thought i would ever find. then, i found basilico. their pizza tasted exactly the same. perfecto! unfortunately, i was too full after eating the pizza, but i'll be back to try more. give a rest chritabelle, try to remember that they are serving the healthiest food in the tri-state.

another excellent claim to writing. I think I share that same sentiment for restaurants...I think that is why we choose to dine at home mostly. I have found if I'm going to eat out it better be someplace locally owned with a passion for food. I am not certain of your particular dining experience but all of these large chain restaurants food tastes like it's been packaged and shipped. Uugh-where's the passion in that? I just can't do that.
As far as music goes I bet you all will find a new direction to progress toward.
And I too am looking forward to spring provided Monte does not destory the new growth-aah...love him, love him but he has to stop digging. I'll keep you updated.
Love, Love, Love to you both
